I shook my head and stared at the man, approaching the tree. I smiled back, the same stare I saw in the field before. I saw something 1behind him that I didn't quite understand. A pale face, or maybe a featureless, alien face. 2 I suppose he saw how startled I was by the form behind him, for he began to turn. Too late! Gibbering madly it overtook him. 3Then he fell to the ground like a sack of straw and once again covered in spikes. My breathing was shallow. I felt nauseous. 4That's when I saw him. A pair of limbs. They were lined with the shadows. 5 Spikes began to fall down, limbs and body parts started to appear behind shadows... It was slowly taking a human form. 6With a now familiar voice. 'Good morning daddy!!' It said and walked towards me. I glanced at the creature 7 It was... it was my daughter who died 5 years ago. I was speechless.. I knew that the alien transformed its appearance into what appears 8 to be my daughter. But seeing her after all these years, hearing her, as if she was here... I started to cry uncontrollably. 9I could see my daughter even more, her arms brushing her back, and her limbs as white as a candle. 10 I allowed myself to hope. The black hair and eyes, the pale skin. Blinking away my blurred vision I noticed the man's still form. 11 He lay where she had overtaken him, still broken and bleeding. I reached for my daughter forgetting she had caused his destruction. 12 Until I noticed the red stains on her lips and teeth as she moved forward to return my embrace. 13As the man grabbed her head with his crooked hands, I could see her face...I will never forget the way she looked at me. 14 The flushed look in her eyes as she pulled him around her. She never stopped staring straight at me, even as she began to feed. 15
